Bafia is a town and commune located in the Centre Province region of Cameroon. It serves as the capital of the Mbam-et-Inoubou department and is situated approximately 120 km north of the national capital, Yaoundé.
The city has a population of roughly 55,700 inhabitants, ranking it as the third-largest city in its province following Yaoundé and Mbalmayo. The local population primarily consists of members of the Bafia and Yambassa peoples. Additionally, Bafia serves as the see of the eponymous diocese.
