Maroua

Cameroon

Maroua is the capital city of the Far North Region in Cameroon. It is situated along the banks of the Ferngo and Kaliao Rivers, located within the foothills of the Mandara Mountains.

The city's population was recorded at 201,371 during the 2005 census. The demographic makeup of the area consists primarily of the Fulbe, also known as the Fulani, ethnic group.
