Ngaoundéré, also known as N'Gaoundéré, is the capital city of the Adamawa Region in Cameroon. It serves as a significant urban center within the country's interior.
The city has experienced substantial demographic growth in recent years. While the 2005 census recorded a population of 152,700, estimates suggest the population has risen rapidly to approximately 1,200,000. This increase is attributed primarily to mass immigration from the Central African Republic and individuals seeking safety from Boko Haram in northern Cameroon.
