Kumbo, also known as Kimbo, is a city located in the North-West Region of Cameroon. It serves as the capital of the Bui Division and is recognized as the second-largest city within the province. Situated at an elevation of approximately 2,000 meters above sea level, the city lies about 110 kilometers from Bamenda along the Bamenda Highlands Ring Road.
The city has a population of 80,212 and is organized into three distinct hilly settlements: Tobin, Mbveh, and Squares. It serves as the capital of the Nso Kingdom for the Nso people. While Lamnso is the lingua franca, residents also speak Pidgin, English, Oku, Djottin, Fulfulde, French, and Hausa.
Kumbo is notable for its horse racing and traditional medicine. The town features a palace, a market, and two hospitals as key local landmarks.
