Ventanas is an Ecuadorian city located in the center of the country's coastal region. It serves as the head of the Ventanas Canton within the Los Ríos Province and ranks as the fourth most populated city in that province. Situated on an extensive plain at an altitude of 24 meters above sea level, the city features a rainy tropical climate with an average temperature of 26 °C.

The city is notably recognized as "The Corn Capital of Ecuador" due to its significant production of corn. According to the 2022 census, Ventanas had a population of 41,531, making it the thirty-eighth most populous city in the country. It functions largely as a dormitory city for thousands of workers who travel daily to Babahoyo, with which it shares a strong economic, social, and commercial link as part of a larger metropolitan area exceeding 250,000 inhabitants.
