Tres Puntas is a silver deposit and mine located in the Atacama Region of Chile. It is situated approximately 80 km north of Copiapó, which serves as the regional capital. The site derives its name from the skyline of three nearby hills that are visible from the road leading to the area.
The deposit was discovered in 1848 by Miguel Osorio and subsequently came under the ownership of Apolinario Soto. This discovery sparked the largest silver rush in Chile since the discovery of Chañarcillo in 1832.
