Putre is a town and commune located in the Arica-Parinacota Region of northern Chile. It serves as the capital of the Parinacota Province and is situated at an altitude of 3,500 meters (11,483 feet) above sea level.
The town is positioned approximately 130 kilometers (81 miles) east of the city of Arica. It is notably characterized by its geographic setting against the backdrop of the Taapaca volcanic complex.
