Puerto Montt

Puerto Montt is a port city and commune situated in southern Chile within the Llanquihue Province of the Los Lagos Region. Located approximately 1,055 km south of the national capital, Santiago, the city sits at the northern end of the Reloncaví Sound.

The commune covers a total area of 1,673 km2 and had a recorded population of 245,902 in 2017. It is bordered by several neighboring communes, including Puerto Varas to the north, Cochamó to the east and southeast, Calbuco to the southwest, and Maullín and Los Muermos to the west.
