Frutillar is a city and commune situated in southern Chile within the Los Lagos Region. It is located in the lake district of Chilean Patagonia, specifically in the Llanquihue Province. The bay of Frutillar sits on the banks of Lake Llanquihue, which is the largest lake entirely contained within Chile.
The city is widely recognized as the "City of Music." In 2017, it became part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN), marking its status as the first Chilean city to be nominated for this designation. Additionally, Frutillar holds the distinction of being the southernmost Creative City of Music in the world.
