The Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família, commonly known as the Sagrada Família, is a Catholic church currently under construction. It is located in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.
Designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, the structure is recognized as the tallest church in the world. On November 7, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the building and proclaimed it a basilica. Portions of the site were designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005 under the category "Works of Antoni Gaudí."
