Chañaral is a small coastal city and commune located in the Atacama Region of Chile. It serves as the capital of the Chañaral Province.
The area is characterized by significant copper mining activity, which has resulted in the contamination of the nearby ocean. Situated to the north of the city is Pan de Azúcar National Park.
