Apples

Switzerland

Apples are round, edible fruits produced by apple trees. They are cultivated globally as both orchard and domestic varieties, with the latter being the most widely grown within the genus.

The fruit originated in Central Asia, where its wild ancestor, Malus sieversii, remains present today. While apples have been cultivated for thousands of years across Eurasia, they were later introduced to North America by European colonists. Additionally, apples hold cultural significance in various religions and mythologies.
