Rapperswil is a former municipality located in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Since January 2007, it has been part of the larger municipality of Rapperswil-Jona within the constituency of See-Gaster.
The city is situated geographically between the Obersee and the main body of Lake Zurich.
