Moutier is a municipality located in Switzerland. Historically, it was part of the Jura bernois administrative district within the canton of Bern. However, following a public vote on March 28, 2021, the town's population decided to secede from its current jurisdiction and join the Canton of Jura.
The transition between cantons is scheduled to be completed by December 31, 2025. This administrative change involves a lengthy process regarding the transfer of competences between the authorities of both the canton of Bern and the Canton of Jura.
