Bangassou

Bangassou is a city located in the southeastern region of the Central African Republic. It serves as the capital of the Mbomou prefecture and is situated on the north bank of the Mbomou River.

The city has a population of 24,447 and is characterized by its local market, diverse wildlife, and the nearby Bangassou Airport. It also hosts the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bangassou.

Geographically, the city is connected to the Democratic Republic of Congo via a ferry service that crosses the river to the south bank.
