Kindu is a city located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It serves as the capital of Maniema province and is situated on the Lualaba River at an altitude of approximately 500 metres.
The city has a population of about 200,000 people. Geographically, it is positioned roughly 400 km west of Bukavu.
