70 Mile House

Canada

70 Mile House is a community located on Highway 97 in the Cariboo region of British Columbia, Canada. The settlement derives its name from its specific distance from Lillooet, which served as Mile 0 of the historic Old Cariboo Road. Other nearby locations, such as 93 Mile House, 100 Mile House, and 150 Mile House, follow a similar naming convention based on their mileage along this route.

During its historical peak, 70 Mile House served as a frequent stop for various transportation services. It was notably used by stagecoaches operated by Barnard's Express and provided a resting point for Cataline's mule train traveling along the Old Cariboo Road.
