Uxbridge is a suburban town located in west London, England. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the London Borough of Hillingdon and is situated approximately 15.4 miles (24.8 km) northwest of Charing Cross.
Historically, Uxbridge formed part of the parish of Hillingdon in the county of Middlesex. During the 20th century, the area experienced significant suburban growth and population increases. It was established as a municipal borough in 1955 and became an official part of Greater London in 1965.
