The name Fiddlesticks refers to traditional instruments used to provide percussion for old-time and Cajun fiddle music. These instruments allow two people to play the fiddle simultaneously; while one person plays the fiddle normally, a second person uses sticks, straws, or knitting needles to tap out a rhythm on the strings over the upper fingerboard.
