Centretown is a neighborhood located in Somerset Ward in central Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The city defines its boundaries as being bounded on the north by Gloucester Street and Lisgar Street, on the east by the Rideau Canal, on the south by the Queensway freeway, and on the west by Bronson Avenue.
Historically, Centretown encompassed all of Ottawa located west of the Rideau Canal, while Lower Town comprised everything to the east. For specific purposes such as real estate listings and census data, the area may include the Golden Triangle and/or Downtown Ottawa. The Centretown Citizens Community Association also considers these areas part of Centretown, a designation that is frequently used in casual conversation.
