Tsawwassen is a suburban, primarily residential community situated on a peninsula in the southwestern corner of the City of Delta, British Columbia, Canada. It serves as a significant transportation hub for the region, notably hosting the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. Opened in 1959 as part of the BC Ferries network, the terminal provides motor vehicle and foot-passenger access from the Lower Mainland to the southern Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island.
The ferry terminal is constructed at the southwestern end of a 3 km causeway that extends into the Strait of Georgia. Additionally, Tsawwassen provides the sole road access to Point Roberts, an American territory located on the southern tip of the peninsula, via 56th Street. The area is also situated near Boundary Bay Airport, a major training hub for local and international pilots, as well as the Roberts Bank Superport.
