Salmon Arm is a city located in the Columbia Shuswap Regional District within the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada. As of 2021, the city has a population of 19,432 and serves as the location for the head offices of the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District.
The municipality underwent several administrative changes throughout its history, including separating from the district in 1912, being downgraded to a village in 1958, and reuniting with the District Municipality in 1970. It was officially incorporated as a municipal district on May 15, 2005, at which point it regained its status as a city.
The town serves as a summer tourist destination connected to all four arms of Shuswap Lake. Notable local features include numerous golf courses, camping facilities, beaches, and houseboat rentals. Additionally, Salmon Arm is home to the longest wooden freshwater wharf in North America.
