Burnaby is a city located in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, Canada. Situated in the center of the Burrard Peninsula, it serves as a major geographic neighbor to several other municipalities, including Vancouver to the west and Richmond to the southwest.

The city shares borders with various regions across different bodies of water and land boundaries. It neighbors the District of North Vancouver to the north across the confluence of the Burrard Inlet and Indian Arm, while Port Moody and Coquitlam lie to the east. To the southeast, it is bordered by New Westminster and Surrey across the Fraser River.

As of the 2021 census, Burnaby has a recorded population of 249,125 residents.
