Francistown

Botswana

Francistown is the second-largest city in Botswana, situated in the eastern part of the country. It is located approximately 400 kilometres north-northeast of the national capital, Gaborone. According to the 2022 census, the city has a population of about 103,417 inhabitants, with an agglomeration total of 147,122 residents.

The city is geographically positioned at the confluence of the Tati and Ntshe rivers. It lies near the Shashe River and is located roughly 90 kilometres from the international border with Zimbabwe.
