Itumbiara is a municipality located in the southern region of the Brazilian state of Goiás. It sits on the border with the state of Minas Gerais, positioned approximately 204 kilometers south of the state capital, Goiânia, and 411 kilometers from the federal capital, Brasília.
The city covers an area of 2,447 square kilometres (945 sq mi) and is ranked as the thirteenth most populous municipality in Goiás. According to the 2022 Census conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), Itumbiara has a population of 107,970 inhabitants. The municipality maintains a "sister city" relationship with the municipality of Araporã in Minas Gerais.
