Valinhos is a municipality located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Situated within the Metropolitan Region of Campinas, the city covers an area of 148.54 square kilometres and sits at an elevation of 660 metres (2,165.35 ft). Its name translates to "little valleys" in Portuguese.
The city is known as the birthplace of Adoniran Barbosa and is recognized for its purple fig. This fruit serves as the central theme of the municipality's annual Fig Fest. As of recent data, Valinhos has a population of 126,325 residents.
