Taubaté is a medium-sized city located in the Paraíba Valley region of southeastern Brazil. It is situated within the state of São Paulo and lies geographically between the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Established in the early 17th century by Jacques Félixis, the city currently has an estimated population of approximately 250,000 people.
