Sumaré is a city located in the State of São Paulo, Brazil. It is situated within the Metropolitan Region of Campinas and covers a total area of 153.47 km². The municipality sits at an elevation of 583 meters above sea level and has a population of 286,211 residents.
The city was founded in 1868 and was previously known as Rebouças before being upgraded to city status. The administrative boundaries of the municipality consist of its headquarters and the district of Nova Veneza. Historically, the area was notable for hosting a manufacturing plant for the Japanese car manufacturer Honda from 1997 until 2021.
