Bela Vista

Brazil

Bela Vista is a traditional neighborhood located in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Sé borough and is recognized for its long history as a diverse residential area.

The neighborhood has been mixed since its inception, originally housing free African-Brazilians alongside a population composed of Native-Brazilians, Blacks, and Portuguese descendants. Over time, it became home to various European immigrants, including those from Spain, Germany, England, France, Belgium, and Italy.

During the first decades of the twentieth century, the Italian community grew significantly within the area, eventually becoming more numerous than all other immigrant groups in the neighborhood.
