Balneário Camboriú is a coastal city located in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. It is situated approximately 10 km south of Itajaí, 96 km south of Joinville, and 80 km north of the state capital, Florianópolis. The city's geography is characterized by steep hills that drop down toward the sea.

The city serves as a major tourist destination for South Americans, particularly during the summer months when its population increases from roughly 139,155 to over one million people. A primary draw for visitors is the Avenida Atlântica, which serves as the main ocean boulevard. Additionally, Balneário Camboriú is known for its unique beach-to-beach cable car that connects the central beach with the beach of Laranjeiras.
