Santo Ângelo is a municipality situated in the northwestern region of the Rio Grande do Sul state in Brazil. It covers a total area of approximately 679 km² and has a population of about 77,568 inhabitants.
The city is located 443 km (275 mi) from Porto Alegre, the state capital. It shares borders with Giruá to the north and Entre-Ijuís to the south, and it is connected via the state road RS 344.
