Erechim is a municipality located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul within the South Region of Brazil. It serves as a significant subregional hub and functions as the central city of the Alto Uruguai region. As of the 2022 Census conducted by the IBGE, the city has an estimated population of 105,705 inhabitants, making it the second most populous city in the northern part of the state.
