Itaguai

Itaguaí is a municipality located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Situated midway between the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Angra dos Reis, it covers a total area of 273 km². The city was founded in 1688 and had a recorded population of 134,819 as of 2020.

The region is notable for its industrial significance, specifically housing several of the world's important iron ore loading ports. Among these key maritime facilities is Ilha Guaiba.
