Cachoeiras de Macacu is a municipality situated in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It covers a total area of 956 km2 (369 sq mi) and had a recorded population of 59,303 as of 2020.
The municipality is located adjacent to the neighboring town of Rio Bonito. Due to its geographical position, it is considered an exurb of the Greater Rio de Janeiro metropolis.
