Araruama is a municipality located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Situated at an altitude of fifty feet, the city is positioned at approximately 22°52'22" of latitude South and 42°20'35" of longitude west.
As of 2020, Araruama had a population of 134,293 inhabitants. This figure makes it the second largest municipality by population within the Região dos Lagos region.
