Umuarama is a municipality located in the state of Paraná, which is one of the three states comprising southern Brazil. It is recognized as one of the most important cities within the region and serves as a notable urban center in the state.

The city sits at an elevation of 430 meters above sea level and receives an annual rainfall of approximately 1,600 mm (63 inches). According to the 2022 Census, Umuarama has a population of 117,095 inhabitants. It is commonly known by the nickname "The Capital of Friendship."
