Pato Branco is a municipality located in the state of Paraná, Brazil. Covering an area of 537.8 km2 (206.7 mi2), the city currently has a population of 83,843 residents. It originated as a village in 1942 and was officially granted city status on December 14, 1952.
The municipality is characterized by recent positive economic development and serves as an educational hub with several higher education institutions. These include two private colleges, Faculdade Mater Dei and Faculdade de Pato Branco, as well as a campus of the Federal University of Technology - Paraná.
