Paragominas is a municipality located in the northern region of Brazil within the state of Pará. Situated at an altitude of 90 meters above sea level, the city is positioned approximately 300 kilometers from the state capital, Belém.
The municipality covers a significant area of roughly 19,342 square kilometers, resulting in a population density of about 5.7 inhabitants per square kilometer. As of July 1, 2020, the city had an estimated population of 105,550 people.
The region is notable for its proximity to industrial resources, specifically Paragominas mine. Located approximately 70 kilometers from the city, this site is recognized as one of the largest bauxite mines in the world.
