Uberaba is a municipality located in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Situated in the Brazilian Highlands at an elevation of 823 metres (2,700 ft), the city sits on the Uberaba River approximately 418 kilometres (260 mi) from the state capital, Belo Horizonte.
The city was officially granted its status in 1856. Its name originates from the Tupi language and translates to "bright water." As of 2022, Uberaba had a population of 337,836 inhabitants, ranking it as the seventh-most populous city in the state of Minas Gerais.
