Araguari is a municipality located in western Minas Gerais state, Brazil. It is situated within the northern Triângulo Mineiro region along the Jordão River, which serves as a tributary to the Paranaíba River. The city sits at an elevation ranging between 940 and 1,087 metres.
The municipality covers a total area of 2,774 km², with 54 km² designated as urban zone and 2,675 km² as rural zone. As of 2020, Araguari had a population of 117,825, making it the third-most important city in the Triângulo Mineiro region following Uberlândia and Uberaba. The city is noted for its rapid development, having been one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Brazil in proportion to the rest of the country.
