São José de Ribamar is a Brazilian municipality located in the state of Maranhão. It serves as one of the constituent parts of São Luís Island, alongside the cities of São Luís, Raposa, and Paço do Lumiar.
As of 2025, the city had an estimated population of 259,164 residents. It is situated within the coastal region of northeastern Brazil.
