Açailândia is a Brazilian municipality located in the western region of Maranhão State. Situated at an elevation of 787 feet (240 meters), it serves as a significant urban center within the state's geography.

The city's name translates to "land of the açaí," referring to the local fruit. According to the 2022 Census, Açailândia has a population of approximately 106,550 residents, making it the eighth largest city in Maranhão.
