Três Lagoas is a municipality located in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. It holds the distinction of being the third most populous city within the state. The name of the municipality is derived from the presence of three lakes in the surrounding region.
The settlement's history dates back to 1880, when colonization began under the leadership of Luís Correia Neves Filho, Antônio Trajano dos Santos, and Protásio Garcia Leal. The city was officially founded in 1915.
