Caucaia is a Brazilian municipality located in the state of Ceará. As of 2025, the city has a population of 378,406 residents.
The region is home to the Tapeba tribe, an indigenous group organized into approximately 17 villages situated around the metropolitan area of Fortaleza. Economically, Caucaia holds the second-largest GDP in Ceará state. This economic standing is driven largely by industries surrounding the port of Pecem, which attracts significant investment for desalination plants and offshore wind farms.
