Aquiraz

Aquiraz is a municipality located on the northeastern coast of Brazil in the state of Ceará. It serves as the thirteenth largest city in the state and is situated approximately 32 kilometers (20 miles) from the state capital, Fortaleza. The Atlantic Ocean forms the city's northeast border.

The municipality has a population of 80,935 people with a population density of 150 inhabitants per square kilometer. Aquiraz shares borders with the municipalities of Maranguape, Caucaia, Pacatuba, Guaiuba, and Maracanau. The geography of the region is defined by the Pacoti and Catu rivers, both of which cross the municipality and empty into the ocean.
