Arapiraca is a Brazilian municipality situated in the state of Alagoas within the Northeast Region of the country. Located in the Agreste region, it belongs to the Metropolitan Region of Agreste and sits approximately 125 km (78 mi) west of the state capital.
The city occupies an area of just over 345 km² (133 sq mi), with its urban area covering 59 km² (23 sq mi). As of 2022, Arapiraca had a population of 234,696 inhabitants, making it the second most populous municipality in Alagoas and the ninth most populous in the interior of the Northeast.
