Bante

Benin

Bantè is a town, arrondissement, and commune located in western Benin. It is situated within the Collines Department, which was formerly known as the Zou Province. The commune encompasses a total area of 2,695 square kilometres.

As of 2013, the population of Bantè was recorded at 106,945 people. The majority of the inhabitants are ethnically Nago, specifically belonging to the Isha subgroup, which is a subgroup of the Yoruba people. The area is notably recognized for the art exhibition "Nago Hunters of the Bante Kingdom" by Jean-Dominique Burton.
