Abomey-Calavi is a city, arrondissement, and commune situated in the Atlantique Department of Benin. It serves as an essential suburb of Cotonou, beginning approximately 18 kilometers from the latter's city center. The commune covers a total area of 650 square kilometers.
The main cities within the commune are Abomey-Calavi and Godomey, located to the south. According to the May 2013 Census, the population was 655,965. Between 2020 and 2025, the city was projected to be the eleventh fastest-growing city on the African continent with a growth rate of 5.27%.
