Al Hidd is a town located on a sand spit at the southeastern extremity of Muharraq Island in Bahrain. The area is characterized by its clear blue seas and has historically been a center for maritime activities.
The town's population is predominantly native Sunni, and its residents were traditionally involved in the pearl diving and fishing industries prior to the discovery of oil in the region. Al Hidd is currently well known for its rich sea crabs and serves as a base for many of Bahrain's fijiri performance groups.
