Yakoruda is a Bulgarian town situated in the southwestern region of the country. It serves as the administrative seat of the Yakoruda Municipality, which represents the northeasternmost municipality within the Blagoevgrad Province.
The town is located in the Rhodope Mountains along the Mesta River, positioned approximately 26 km west of Velingrad. Originally classified as a village, Yakoruda was officially proclaimed a town on September 9, 1964.
